In addition to her fitness pursuits, Gracie has pursued unique life experiences that have shaped her perspective. She spent a summer living on a boat in Maine, worked on farms in Ireland through a WWOOFing program, and studied with an herbalist. These diverse experiences reflect her curiosity, resilience, and dedication to personal growth both inside and outside of the fitness world.

Professionally, Gracie has spent over five years in the utility field, currently holding her position for more than a year. She entered this industry to challenge herself in a space where women are often underrepresented. After completing a year of intensive gas school training, she thrives in a role that demands accountability, professionalism, and respect, often working in challenging conditions such as blizzards and major operational events. Her experience in the field has not only strengthened her character but also positioned her for leadership opportunities and diverse roles within her company or beyond.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say if you have a goal, then just go for it. Even if people aren't always encouraging or supporting of your goal, try to find a couple examples of people that have done what you want to do, and then if you really have a dream and a goal that you want to go for, you can achieve it and you can get there. Just never give up on your dream, regardless of what you see other people doing or what people say to you. You can achieve really anything that you put your mind to.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges in my field are the safety aspects - there are safety challenges we face regularly. We work really long hours, which can be challenging, and we work in all different types of weather. I've had to go to work in blizzards, so it's not like I'm sitting at home. When we have major events, we're all hands on deck, and that can be challenging as well. As far as opportunities, I think pretty much after you gain this type of experience and you have the safety and field background, it really opens you up for different levels of management and exposure to different positions within my company or outside of my company as well. It also just helps to build character, so that'll help you no matter what you're doing in life or outside of work as well.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My top three core values professionally are professionalism, accountability, and respect. Professionalism is about maintaining professionalism and presenting myself a certain way at work. Accountability means being able to hold people accountable and also being able to hold myself accountable. And respect is about respecting the people you work with, your employees, and respecting yourself when you go to work, and treating your job and your position with respect. Outside of work, I'm very passionate about fitness and wellness - the wellness world is something I care deeply about. I'm also very spiritual and religious-based, which is important to me even though I don't talk a lot about it at work. I think it's important, and I'm passionate about giving back to people. Eventually, I'd like to create my own programs for coaching and training.
