Her Interview

Ten minutes with Graciela

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Follow your gut. I think that was something that really kind of helped me through my experience and it was you know I didn't really understand who I wanted to be or what my standard of myself was but my gut always told me to get into this room to say yes to try it out to put yourself out there and you know it led me here and you know I'm so like grateful for that. I would say follow your gut.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Accepting positions that weren't paying but let me into a room to network. Sometimes especially in a generation in which social media is kind of showcasing what your career should be and there's a lot of young people who are not taking advantage of those positions because they're seeing monetary compensation as the most important thing and sometimes just taking a job just to have a project and a title under you so that you can present it at your next interview is so much more important than a few bucks here and there if you have the time and the resources. Learn from others ask questions just absorb as much as you can if it's the room that you wanna be in.
