Her Story

About Gwynne E.

Gwynne E. Burt is an educator, ordained clergy member, and motivational speaker who founded Divinely Motivated LLC to bring together her passion for teaching, leadership development, and faith-based guidance under one platform. With more than 25 years in education — spanning elementary, business, private, and public school settings — and 20 years delivering workshops, seminars, keynote addresses, corporate training, coaching, and consulting services, she has built a career defined by versatility and purpose. Her work has taken her across New Jersey, throughout the United States, and internationally to Africa, where she has helped individuals and organizations strengthen leadership and professional development skills. Academically, Gwynne holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration and Management with a concentration in Bilingual Administration from LaRoche College and a Master of Divinity from New York Theological Seminary, a combination that reflects both her administrative expertise and her grounding in ministry. She is deeply engaged in community and professional life, holding leadership roles including President of the Delta Nu Chapter of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated, and serving as a charter member of the Greater Bergen County section of the National Council of Negro Women. She also belongs to the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club, Incorporated, and contributes her time to both the Bethune Scholarship Committee and the Community Scholarship Committee. Gwynne's contributions have earned her recognition through induction into Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, the Diamond Anniversary Edition of Who's Who in America, and Cambridge Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women, along with its Honors Edition. Above all, she credits her achievements to her unwavering faith, describing her career as a calling rather than simply a profession. Guided by patience, discernment, and a belief that timing matters, she continues to mentor others — both men and women entering her field — encouraging them to move with intention rather than haste, and to trust that the right opportunities will unfold in their proper season.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Gwynne E.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my faith. I remain confident that whatever purpose or calling God has placed on my life is exactly what I am meant to pursue, and I trust that conviction completely.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I've ever received is to trust God and to not move ahead of His timing. Even when direction seems slow to come, I've learned to wait patiently and to follow my own heart rather than simply doing what others expect of me.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would encourage them not to rush into anything simply because it looks appealing. Instead, they should take the time to think things through and make sure it truly aligns with where they're meant to be in that season of life. When you pursue the right path at the right time, everything you need tends to fall into place.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is learning to be patient and to wait through the quieter seasons. The field often moves between feast and famine — there are stretches full of opportunity, followed by periods that feel more like a dry season.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My faith is paramount to everything I do. Trusting that God guides my steps shapes not just my personal life but is visible in nearly every arena I'm part of professionally.
