Her Interview
Ten minutes with Haleema
01What do you attribute your success to?
Finding allies wherever and whenever you can, playing to my own strengths like interpersonal relationships, asking for help, utilizing every single resource available, and having enough integrity to say I don't know and ask for clarification.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
From a friend at business school named Sally: you should never be wondering if you worked your hardest, you should know without hesitation that you worked as hard as you could so that even when you fail you have the ability to get back up. Also from my older sister about knowing how to fail.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Build your chosen family and maintain relationships even when inconvenient, because the better your personal life the better your work product. Your self-worth is not tied to your job, there's more to life and womanhood. Create the allies that you want.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity and honesty are big ones, along with work ethic in general, controlling your attitude and effort, and resilience. You can only control your attitude and your effort.
