Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the incredible support of mentors like Tom Helt and Joy Burris, who have guided and encouraged me throughout my career, and to the balance I’ve been able to maintain between motherhood and work. I also value the opportunity to mentor others, knowing how important it is to have a supportive “village” to navigate professional challenges and growth.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the chemical industry is to be prepared for a challenging environment, but also to recognize the many opportunities available. Seek out mentors, support other women, and create space for professional growth—mentorship and collaboration are key to advancing your career.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field is supporting women’s career development in a traditionally male-dominated industry like chemicals.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are community, family, and service. I stay actively involved through my church, Brazos Point Fellowship, and as treasurer of my children’s PTO, while relying on the support of my husband, Graham, to raise our three children and balance our responsibilities.
