About Haley

Haley Peck is a multi-industry entrepreneur who owns a flower shop for over 20 years, a concrete business for 15 years, and a trucking company for just over 9 years. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. Peck serves as Forum Chair for Utah with the Women's Business Enterprise National Coalition. Her success stems from hard work and strong family support, and she attributes key values of honesty, moral fiber, and civic duty to both her professional and personal life. Through her company First Stop Trucking, Peck hires felons and has established a training school to support formerly incarcerated individuals in building careers. She also sponsors schools and youth programs, focusing on underserved communities and promoting diversity in hiring, including more women drivers. Peck advises aspiring business owners, especially young women, to persevere through challenges, noting that ownership can be lonely yet offers flexibility and the chance to create opportunities for others.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Haley

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think just growing up, and just a lot of hard work. My family, they all work hard. And I have a great support system with my family, so I think that that would be. I don't think it would be extra hard to not have like a family support, or support in general.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To know that it's not going to be easy. But to always remember, if it were easy, everyone would do it. So, to not give up. You're gonna feel like it, and you're gonna cry, and you're gonna be so upset, and you're gonna be so stressed, but the reality is, is that you can do it, you just have to knuckle down and do it.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The path of ownership is often a lonely situation. On the flip side, it's nice because you make your own schedule but you don't really, and you can provide opportunities for people and employ them while coaching your kids' sports teams.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty is a huge. Having a good moral fiber in general is huge. And having civic duty is also probably important to me.
