Her Story
About Hana
I work in the space where neuroscience meets coaching. My journey started in academia where I earned my PhD, then I transitioned into the world of business and business operations, spending several years working for an international global hotel chain. I have always gravitated towards training and development of individuals, and eventually started being asked to do more systemic training programs. I worked with an agency in Austria, Indiana, that did trainings and leadership development programs for corporations worldwide. I'm also a professor of business management at Seattle College. In my trainings, I would have a room of people, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to be better leaders, and just as with any training, half of those people don't really want to be there but their boss signed them up, and half of these people who want to be there could really benefit from a deeper dive and one-on-one work. These trainings very often led to individual coaching sessions, which landed me in this space where I eventually transitioned into coaching. Because I don't like executive coaching per se much, I was more interested in what really moves the needle, which led me into working with the subconscious and the neuroscience side of change. The most rewarding part of my job is the actual change in behavior and lives of my clients, being a witness to that process, people letting me in and allowing me to be on that journey with them. They do all the work, but I am there to guide and be the witness, and that is the most rewarding of all possible outcomes.

01What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think especially with everything that technology has to offer, there is a lot of opportunities related to AI, related to maximizing the reach. I do want to write a book, and I do want to start a few smaller businesses. I am very interested in spending more time in the public speaking arena. I've been invited more and more to do just that from keynote to editorial writing and opinion writing, and that brings me a lot of joy. For now, I do mainly Substack and my own writing or guest writing, but that is something that I also think I can leverage in the future. I have 15 years plus as a professor, so taking complex topics and making them digestible is my superpower, and my webinars and public speaking engagements are practical, no-nonsense, direct, fun and engaging, enjoyable. So, I want to lean into that more.
