About Hania
My professional journey began 38 years ago, but my most transformative work started when I weighed 420 pounds and developed a mental strategy to get under 200 without traditional diet or exercise. This breakthrough led me to understand how to change mindsets to be more productive, which I applied to obtaining my degrees, opening businesses, and becoming a foster parent to 48 children - many of whom I put through college and still maintain contact with today. Since 2016, I've been self-employed, helping others transform their lives by addressing the cause of their challenges rather than just the effects. I work with individuals struggling with weight and other issues, helping them change what's going on in their mind, and I've helped people come down from very large numbers - including one client who went from 600 pounds to under 300 and is now thriving. I also consult with businesses, observing management and helping companies become highly productive through what I call 'soft leadership' - the concept that soft is not weak but actually strong, and that you don't need to be overbearing or controlling to create success. I've helped friends' businesses achieve remarkable results, with two appearing on the cover of Fortune magazine and another securing contracts for malls throughout the northeast United States. My approach focuses on creating a team environment where employees become part of the family, moving from an 'us versus them' mentality to everyone pushing forward for the greater good of the whole.

Ten minutes with Hania
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to transmuting heartache, disappointment, and negativity into something authentic and beautiful. I had about two years where anything that could go wrong went wrong - I'd train someone and they'd get the promotion instead of me, I'd get a new job and the company would close, and I was struggling as a single mom when my sister's kids were taken away and suddenly I had 6 more children to care for. In that darkness, I had to sit back and take a deep breath, and something emerged. I was able to transmute all the anger, pain, disappointment, and stress of the whole situation into something authentic and beautiful - I basically made lemonade. That experience made me realize so much about what really matters and helped me pay attention to different personalities and quirks that I had never really paid attention to before, even in management roles. It gave me empathy towards someone that's not capable of helping themselves and taught me how to balance life and still make things happen. From that struggle, I came up with concepts that I merged together and started helping people around me, and even though I wasn't charging them at first, they started giving me money and I realized I could make a living doing this.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The most important value to me is operating from a place of softness and authenticity, with the premise that soft is not weak but actually strong. I believe you don't have to be overbearing or controlling to create triumph and productivity - you can move in a softer manner and achieve more. In my work, I put myself in the shoes of the employer, the management, and the staff so I can understand everyone's perspective from the bottom all the way to the top. I approach everything with the premise of wanting for others what I would want for myself. I believe in addressing each person as a great individual, not just a name on a piece of paper, and making them feel valued whether you're dealing with the divine feminine, divine male, or any personality quirks. I also value empathy deeply, especially towards people who aren't capable of helping themselves or whose intentions are misconstrued. In my personal life with relationships, I believe in getting people back to base one, ground zero - focusing on who you are as a human being rather than superficial things like how much you make, how much you weigh, or how you look. It should be like when you were a child: I like you, you like me, let's build a foundation.
