About Hannah
Hannah Bartholomew serves as Territory Manager, Commercial Construction Staffing at Labor Source Companies, where she specializes in workforce solutions and business development for commercial construction projects across North Carolina. In this role, she partners with general contractors, subcontractors, project executives, and operations leaders to provide reliable staffing solutions that support project timelines, budgets, and safety requirements. Her territory extends from High Point to Wilmington and reaches the Virginia and South Carolina borders, encompassing a diverse range of projects, including hotels, hospitals, and state developments.
Hannah brings a distinctive combination of engineering expertise, business development experience, and relationship-building skills to the construction industry. She earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical Engineering through North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a concentration in CAD for medical devices. During her academic career, she collaborated with Duke Hospital on the development of a remote robotic system designed to help reduce healthcare worker exposure during the COVID-19 pandemic. After college, she spent a year teaching English in Spain before transitioning into engineering and ultimately discovering her passion for construction staffing. Her decision to enter the industry was also influenced by her family's construction background and her desire to contribute meaningfully to the communities she serves.
Hannah attributes her professional success to resilience, independence, adaptability, and the confidence to pursue opportunities that align with her strengths. Her early experiences taught her the importance of taking ownership of her future, embracing challenges, and remaining committed to personal and professional growth. She demonstrated that mindset when she chose to transition away from engineering despite outside expectations and entered a traditionally male-dominated industry where she could bring a fresh perspective. Today, Hannah is passionate about building trusted partnerships, understanding the unique challenges facing her clients, and connecting the right people with the right opportunities to help construction projects succeed.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Hannah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the resilience, independence, and discipline I developed early in life. Growing up in a challenging environment with divorced parents and very different lifestyles, I took on significant responsibility for my siblings while remaining focused on my education and pursuing biomedical engineering. College gave me the opportunity to grow beyond those circumstances and discover what I truly wanted for my future, including teaching English in Spain and eventually building a career in construction staffing. My experiences taught me the importance of accountability, hard work, and creating opportunities rather than waiting for them. They continue to motivate me to push myself professionally, provide for those I care about, and use my experiences as a foundation for building a successful and meaningful life.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the construction industry is to trust yourself, be confident in your abilities, and have the courage to make decisions that align with your own goals. Earlier in my career, I allowed myself to be influenced by what others wanted for me, including pursuing engineering because it was the path others encouraged me to take. Choosing to leave engineering for construction staffing was a significant risk, especially when people around me advised against it, but I trusted my instincts and it has been an incredibly rewarding decision. In a male-dominated industry, I encourage women to recognize that their unique perspectives are a strength. Use your confidence, critical thinking, and ability to approach conversations differently as tools to challenge assumptions, introduce new ideas, and create meaningful impact.
