About Hannah
Hannah Dann owns a wedding planning business specializing in hospitality events, which she has run for the past 10 years. She began her career in catering and venue management outside of college in Philadelphia, where she worked for four and a half years before moving back to Maryland. Hannah grew up in a family that enjoyed hosting large events and small gatherings alike, which sparked her interest in creating memorable celebrations for clients. She maintains a full-time job alongside building her business and attributes her drive to the example set by her hardworking parents and grandparents. In her free time, she volunteers monthly with Character Counts, visiting elementary schools to read and discuss character with students, and supports cancer awareness events as well as donations for kids and schools.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I would say probably people like my parents and my grandparents, both very hard workers throughout their whole lives, great people to everyone they've kind of come across. And so I think that definitely has helped. My mom worked full-time, growing up, raised me and my sisters. Well, my dad also worked full-time, but he traveled a lot for our family's business. So just knowing that you can do everything while working full-time. I think is... and, like, chasing your dream. I also would say I align myself with pretty, like, great females as well, like, young and old.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be willing to probably put in the hours. I mean, I've always had... had a full-time job, while building a business, so... there's a lot of hours in the day, and if you can carve out 2 to 3 even per day to focus on something for yourself, some people choose to run marathons, some people choose to build businesses, but do something that you're passionate about, and just know that you need to carve out 2-3 hours a day, and you can build something pretty great for yourself.
