Hannah Lane
Hannah Lane is an accomplished accounting professional and the owner of Illuminated LLC (DBA Illuminated Bookkeeping), where she provides comprehensive bookkeeping and accounting services to a diverse mix of ongoing and quarterly clients. She operates fully remotely as a contractor and fractional bookkeeper and is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor. Hannah focuses on organizing client financial information and helping businesses understand the "language of business," ensuring clear financial insight for growth, tax preparation, and operational efficiency. She values security and financial stability, enjoys one-on-one client relationships, and appreciates the flexibility and balance that remote work provides.
Hannah’s career in accounting began while she was attending college, working in banking and hospitality, and earning an accounts payable/receivable certificate (five courses) and a payroll certificate (two courses), in addition to other college accounting courses. She credits an accounting-cycle class as foundational to her career. She went on to serve as a full-charge bookkeeper at a nonprofit and briefly worked for a CPA, which introduced her to fractional client work and inspired her entrepreneurial path. In 2019, she launched her bookkeeping business. Although the early years of her practice were affected by COVID, she gained additional experience through employment and has since resumed expanding her client base while continuing to deliver high-quality financial services.
Over her 15-year career, Hannah has held senior accounting roles in organizations such as American Baptist Homes of the Midwest, Minneapolis Club, AVID Audio Visual Installation & Design, and consulting projects through Versique Search & Consulting. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies with concentrations in business and arts from Metropolitan State University and an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Minneapolis College. She also maintains professional certifications in Sage Intacct Fundamentals On Demand and as a QuickBooks Desktop Certified ProAdvisor. Passionate about lifelong learning, Hannah approaches her work with creativity, discipline, and a client-focused mindset, balancing technical rigor with a collaborative, personable approach.
