Her Story
About Hannah
Hannah Sand serves as a key team member at MovePlan Group in Tacoma, Washington, where she has spent nearly five years supporting clients through significant workplace transitions. After working in the nonprofit sector, where she performed project management tasks without initially recognizing them as such, she pursued a project management certification at the encouragement of a supportive boss. This led her to join MovePlan Group as they established operations in her area, allowing her to apply her skills on the ground floor. She later earned a certification as a change practitioner and now focuses heavily on change management, guiding organizations through relocations of offices and labs as well as broader workplace strategy initiatives that align physical spaces with future visions of work. Hannah emphasizes creating tailored communications plans that address impacts across all levels of an organization, from executives to support staff, while balancing diverse stakeholder expectations on tight timelines. She attributes her success to her natural organizational abilities and the guidance of mentors who helped her recognize and develop her strengths professionally. Looking ahead, she aims to continue adapting to industry shifts like AI while prioritizing the human elements of her work and mentoring emerging colleagues.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Hannah
01What do you attribute your success to?
I've always been a highly organized person, and it was almost like how do I harness that skill set into something. A wide variety of people pointed out hey you're really good at this here's something that that can look in a professional world. Working with people that identified what I was good at and allowed me then to grow in that more.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Joining networks like this is really crucial just to build your group. Staying curious about how the work is being done and not just coming in with like here's all of my ideas. The flexibility that is naturally now required for any sort of endeavor has to be forefront in how you approach any new endeavor.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Stay really curious especially in today's world to not have really black and white understandings of something. Recognize that people are coming from a lot of different perspectives and so to come with kindness first and give grace where is needed.
