About Heather

Heather Bayon is a seasoned gaming-industry professional serving as Client Success and Product Support Manager at DataSpade, Inc., where she focuses on client success, product support, casino marketing analytics, and technology solutions. With more than 23 years of experience in the gaming industry, she has developed a career centered on customer service, operational discipline, compliance, and relationship building. Her journey began at Turtle Creek Casino before she joined the original team that opened Gun Lake Casino in 2011, where she spent 13 years advancing through leadership roles in casino cage operations.

At Gun Lake Casino, Heather served as Cage Manager and Cage/Count Manager, overseeing teams responsible for cash handling, casino assets, guest credit, daily financial operations, and regulatory compliance. Her responsibilities required meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of accounting, gaming regulations, internal controls, and tribal gaming requirements. The experience also strengthened her ability to lead teams in high-pressure environments while maintaining exceptional service standards. In 2024, she expanded her perspective by joining Everi Holdings as a Project Manager in loyalty, gaining experience in cross-functional project delivery, casino loyalty operations, and vendor partnerships.

Today, Heather brings her extensive casino operations background to DataSpade, where she helps clients use data and technology to improve casino marketing and decision-making. She is passionate about solving problems, building trust, and helping gaming properties access practical analytics and marketing solutions. Her career reflects adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities, including making a significant career transition later in life. Through her work and leadership, Heather continues to champion relationship-driven service and the value of women bringing their expertise, confidence, and perspective to the gaming industry.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Heather

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to perseverance, adaptability, and the courage to embrace change. Throughout my 23-year career, from banking and casino gaming to remote work and data analytics, I have learned that stepping outside my comfort zone can create meaningful opportunities for growth.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I encourage young women to pursue a career and build something for themselves without feeling guilty about not being everywhere for everyone. You cannot attend every event, appointment, or meeting, and that does not mean you are falling short. Focus on being present for what truly matters, give yourself grace, and remember that it is okay to have something that is uniquely yours.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry, where women may have to work harder to establish their credibility and earn opportunities. At the same time, this creates an opportunity for women to demonstrate their expertise, build confidence, and help pave the way for greater representation and inclusion.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are resilience, gratitude, and meaningful relationships. Personal loss and adversity have taught me to appreciate every opportunity and make the most of each experience. I also value staying connected with my industry and community, building genuine professional relationships, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
