Throughout her career, Heather has advanced through a variety of leadership roles, beginning in provider education after spending time as a full-time mother and substitute teacher. She has educated physicians across numerous specialties, managed financial operations, and ultimately assumed responsibility for three specialized teams. Under her leadership, one team provides physician education on evaluation and management coding and documentation, another focuses on improving coder efficiency and reducing denials through automation and Lean methodologies, while a third conducts quality audits for both internal and external coders, delivering education and actionable feedback to support continuous improvement. Her ability to bridge the gap between clinical, operational, and financial teams has made her a trusted leader within the organization. Heather attributes her success to the relationships she has built throughout her career and her ability to connect people with different perspectives to achieve common goals. She believes honesty, transparency, and continuous learning are essential to effective leadership and professional growth. An active member of both the AAPC and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Heather encourages others to continually expand their skills, remain open to new opportunities, and embrace change as a pathway to long-term success.
