What do you attribute your success to?
I believe much of my success stems from growing up in a military family, where my father served 21 years. This experience continued when I married into the military, making me a military dependent for over 40 years. Moving, on average, every three years taught me to adapt quickly, remain resilient, and find ways to thrive wherever life takes me.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received taught me to keep an open mind to opportunities that might not initially catch my interest. I’ve learned that sometimes the roles we least expect can lead to the most growth, unexpected experiences, and doors we never imagined opening.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in your abilities, embrace your strengths, and confidently showcase the value you bring. Don’t be afraid to step forward, speak up, and let your skills shine—your confidence is one of your greatest assets.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field today is encouraging young adults to open up and develop strong communication skills. This is not just about teaching a skill—it’s about building confidence, fostering self-expression, and supporting their overall growth so they can succeed in both their careers and personal lives.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The value I hold most dear in both my work and personal life is respect—for the people I interact with, for the journeys they’ve experienced, and for the collaborative efforts that allow us to achieve meaningful results together.
