Dr. Heather Frye, Ed.D.

Dr. Heather Frye, Ed.D., is an accomplished educational leader serving as Principal of Franklin STEAM Middle School within Minneapolis Public Schools. She began her career as a middle school math teacher from 2008 to 2018, developing expertise in curriculum design, student engagement, and classroom management. Building on her teaching experience, Dr. Frye advanced to school leadership, serving as Assistant Principal at Apollo High School in St. Cloud before joining Franklin Middle School in Minneapolis, where she now leads Franklin STEAM Middle School.

Throughout her career, Dr. Frye has been recognized for her strengths in educational leadership, staff development, and instructional innovation. She has held roles including Math Specialist and Administrative TOSA, providing her with a comprehensive perspective on K–12 education. Known for her collaborative leadership style, she emphasizes equity, inclusion, and community engagement, fostering an environment where both students and staff can thrive. Her leadership has been instrumental in implementing STEAM-focused initiatives and improving academic outcomes.

Dr. Frye holds an Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in K–12 Principalship and is pursuing her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at Concordia University-St. Paul. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling, spending quality time with her family, and fostering puppies, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing nature. Combining personal dedication with professional expertise, Dr. Frye continues to inspire students, teachers, and the broader Minneapolis education community to achieve their fullest potential.
