Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to experiences that grounded me in human connection and to the support I received in prioritizing my mental health along the way. Working in hospitality during undergrad taught me empathy and communication across all walks of life. I carried those skills into healthcare, where I discovered a deep, genuine capacity to sit with people in their pain and truly listen to them. These experiences shaped how I connect with others today and reinforced the importance of leading with kindness, grace, and intention. I am proud to make a meaningful impact in the industries I serve, and I know I would not be where I am today without the mental health support that helped me grow, heal, and show up fully.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be mindful of every interaction. You never know who you’re speaking with, what they may be going through, or how a moment of kindness could shape a relationship or opportunity. If you are intentional with every interaction, and keep the focus on the other person, you will never fail.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the trades' industries' is to take up space. Let your voice be heard without apology. If you have a seat at the table, it's because you belong there. What you have to say matters more than you may realize. Don't ever minimize yourself or your voice. I got so concerned with sounding "professional" that I lost my own voice. Your superpower is that no one else is YOU. Make sure people know who you are and what you have to say. You never know who might be watching for inspiration to follow their own dreams. Wherever you are, be ALL there, and be yourself.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The industry is facing real pressure from labor shortages, rising expectations, and increasing operational complexity. At the same time, those challenges create meaningful opportunity for leaders who are willing to think differently. The future of the trades is not restoration professionals or plumbers who happen to own businesses. It is business owners who happen to be in restoration, plumbing, or HVAC.

As technical training becomes more standardized, what truly sets companies apart is how they train, develop, and invest in their people. Strong leadership, healthy culture, and intentional growth are becoming the real differentiators. There is also a powerful opportunity to attract individuals who want an alternative to traditional college or career paths and are looking to build a life that offers both financial success and balance. The work is not easy, but for those willing to commit to growth and development, it can be incredibly rewarding.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me center on meaningful impact, human connection, and alignment. I’m motivated by work that genuinely helps people and creates real value, not just activity for activity’s sake. I value authentic relationships, community, and environments where people feel seen and supported. I do my best work when I have autonomy, creative ownership, and systems that support sustainable growth without burnout. Above all, I care about integrity—being able to stand behind what I do and knowing my work aligns with who I am and the kind of life and communities I want to help build.
