Her Story
About Heather
I've been in the biotech field since 2022, currently serving as Principal Global Market Development at BBG BioBridge Global Advanced Therapies since February 2025. In this role, I handle business development for starting materials, including leukapheresis, cord blood sales, and clinical research. We're a contract manufacturing organization and blood bank that provides these starting materials to biotech companies to develop therapeutics. Before transitioning to biotech, I was a bedside nurse in pediatrics at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, working in hematology oncology during the big boom of cell therapy starting in pediatrics. One of the reasons I got into biotech and into the industry is I wanted to make a bigger impact and advocate for patients. We're only so limited at the bedside, so I wanted to hold a role where I could help access and expand these therapies to several different indications. My most notable professional achievement has been assisting in the business development and marketing of launching the world's first mobile leukapheresis center, which is very important for patient access since a lot of the cell therapy procedures are done in big academic institutions, and patients living in rural areas have to travel across state lines or over 2 hours to get a procedure done that usually only lasts 4 hours.
