Q

What do you attribute your success to?

“I attribute my success to staying open to learning, working hard, and doing my best to grow from every experience. I’ve been fortunate to have people around me who guided and supported me along the way.”

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

“Some of the best career advice I’ve ever received was to stay with a smaller company where I could learn broadly, make a meaningful impact, and grow in ways that wouldn’t be possible in a more segmented environment.”

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

“The best career advice I could give, is to advocate for yourself. Don’t wait for someone else to recognize your hard work and dedication—set your own path, communicate your aspirations clearly, and prove through your actions that you’re the right person for the role you want.”

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the challenges in our industry is the growing need for highly trained professionals in optical engineering, manufacturing, and clinical care. The pace of innovation is outstripping the availability of talent.
Which also leads to amazing opportunities since there is currently a growing trend of eyewear as a form of self-expression. The need for people across the optical field, and lab technicians who embrace lens customization are in a prime position to thrive.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

“The values that guide me—both professionally and personally—are Growth through experience: I believe every experience, good or bad, is a chance to learn and evolve.

Self-advocacy: I value the importance of speaking up for myself, setting clear goals, and proving my readiness through action.

Curiosity: Staying curious and continuously learning across different areas helps me stay adaptable and open to new opportunities. Hard work and ownership: I take pride in working hard and take full responsibility for the mistakes I make along the way to learning and growing. I pursue.

Empowerment of others: Especially in my industry, I believe in encouraging others—particularly young women—to find their voice, embrace their strengths, and pursue their goals with confidence.”
