Her Story

About Heather

I've been working in education and consulting for women founders since 2005, when I got my yoga certification and started two businesses. That experience taught me that being a women business owner is quite challenging - harder than I realized, and harder than most people realize. I had mentors and support, which were total blessings, and through that I realized that women helping women is absolutely crucial to their success. Now I work with women entrepreneurs, and I see the difference between those who have taken the time to really get into self-mastery alongside their business growth versus those who did not - the longevity is much more so with people who do both. I've been working with a spiritual mentor in Switzerland for about 15 years, and I overlay spiritual intelligence with leadership and growing a business. I think that's very cutting-edge work, and I think that not a lot of people know how to do that, but I feel like it's absolutely where we're going in the age of AI. My continued dedication to really supporting women entrepreneurs and their dreams is something I'm really proud of - women are becoming empowered and feeling self-sufficient through this work.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I think the best piece of advice is that the foundation must be strong if you really want to grow - the internal foundation, like, of who I am, the inner work, is critical. And then there's also this reality that you can't just consult all the maps in the world, you have to walk the path to really learn what's going to work and what's not. You have to be courageous and implement.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to take very seriously what it means to develop inner resilience and strength, and from my experience, it's been really developing my spiritual intelligence alongside my leadership intelligence and development. I think we underestimate the power of inner resilience. There's a lot of talk out there around nervous system regulation, nervous system mastery, and all this, but I think taking the time and really dedicating and focusing on what that actually means and really working with internal resilience will absolutely redefine how you lead yourself now and in the future. Early on, I made that a focus, and now when I work with women, I see the difference between those who have taken the time to really get into self-mastery alongside their business growth and their business path versus those who did not. And the longevity is much more so with people who do both.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the greatest challenges are definitely that there's so many options and opportunities out there and information that I think women are having a very hard time discerning what's best from an entrepreneurial standpoint, and so I think there's a fair amount of burnout from information overload and loss of discernment around what's really going to support their path forward the best. The opportunity is that there is a lot of ways to connect with people and forge relationships and partnerships, and so that's also an opportunity. Even though there is a lot of information, there's also an incredible opportunity to grow and expand through partnerships, and so I think that's an opportunity right now that I would highly recommend most women entrepreneurs pursue.
