About Heather
Heather Rosenbaum serves as Senior Corporate Recruiter, supporting talent acquisition across real estate development divisions focused on new home construction and investment properties including property management. She has been in recruiting since 2000, with nearly six years at a staffing agency where she advanced to branch manager overseeing the DMV region through COVID, assisting with temporary and permanent placements amid layoffs. In her current corporate role, she handles hiring for new communities, strategizes on recruiting operations and best practices including AI tools, and emphasizes organization and mindfulness to manage challenges. She maintains AIRS with ADP certifications and prioritizes integrity, transparency, and active listening in her professional approach.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Action over perfection. I really had to overcome that kind of earlier on in my career, is I would just be at a standstill trying to make something perfect, when all I really needed to do is just kind of take that first step and start the progress and start taking action. Also work-life balance, making sure that you're not letting yourself get to a burnout state.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Listen to your instincts, but also listen more than you speak in some situations. Like, just active listening, really, really hearing them. Prioritizing the candidate is still going to get you the best hire for that position. Sometimes early on, you just want to fill positions fast, but you really have to take that time and listen and hear out the different backgrounds.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Definitely integrity and transparency. I really try to make sure that there's open communication throughout the entire process with everybody involved. Sometimes business happens, and so sometimes life happens, and so as long as we're transparent throughout that whole process, that's usually when we make, like, really the best decisions overall for everybody involved. Honesty piece, especially when working with people.
