Heather Sloan
Heather Sloan is an accomplished sales leader and Area Sales Manager at McKesson, specializing in the non-acute medical distribution market. She manages a concentrated territory in the Raleigh, North Carolina region and oversees a team of account executives serving physician-owned practices, EMS providers, government accounts, and workplace health organizations. In her role, Heather blends strategic business development with operational oversight, ensuring her team delivers high-impact solutions that improve healthcare outcomes across her territory.
With over two decades of professional experience, Heather brings deep expertise in leadership, business development, and team management. She spent 22 years at Verizon Communications, where she built her foundation in business operations and leadership during a dynamic period in the telecommunications industry. About six and a half years ago, Heather transitioned to medical sales as a second career, starting as an inside sales leader at McKesson and quickly advancing to her current field/area sales manager role. Her experience spans team building, change management, project management, and implementing process efficiencies through technology and cross-functional collaboration.
Heather’s professional philosophy centers on empowering her team, removing obstacles to their success, and fostering a culture of accountability and growth. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Virginia Commonwealth University and a BBA in Business Administration from Averett Online. Outside of her professional life, Heather is passionate about community service, volunteering with Safe Harbor to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence, and serving as a FEMA canine handler for disaster and humanitarian relief. She is also an avid skier, embracing the challenge and exhilaration of the slopes as a favorite personal pursuit.
