Ten minutes with Heather
01What do you attribute your success to?
I chose the perfect career from the very beginning, and am grateful every day the credit union movement found me. It feels amazing to know I'm helping people save money and achieve their financial dreams. I've been lucky in love and blessed with 3 amazing children, now grown. All of that, to me, is success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Follow your passion. When you do, going to work doesn't feel like "work" at all.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Lean into the sisterhood. In spite of persistent myths, women truly look out for each other, cheer each other on, and are excellent mentors & role models.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Leveraging AI, competing with fintechs, uniting the many data sources.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
As one who communicates for a living, I need to feel good that what I am communicating will benefit my audience. I believe in honesty, integrity, and transparency in my professional and personal life. I also believe that life should be fun, whether I'm at work or at play!
