Her Interview
Ten minutes with Heather
01What do you attribute your success to?
Ever since I was little, I always had an entrepreneurial mindset. I would walk around the neighborhood selling flowers or whatever, and I always just wanted to sell stuff that I made, or sell stuff that I felt like I could really show people what I was capable of.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The quote from The Devil Wears Prada 2: 'Did you need this job? Did you take this job to figure out a way to do this job?' It reminded me that since I figured out how to run my own company, I can figure out a way to do this job too.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't let fear be a factor why you don't take the position or feel that you won't succeed. Just be yourself, show your creativity, and just know that fear is only gonna set you back.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Biggest challenge is not having enough time in the day. I have a pretty large territory, all of Inland Empire and Coachella Valley, and so for me, it's just getting... finding the time to get to every single office and making that connection, has just been the biggest challenge.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Communication is a key value to have, just good communication, and always being transparent with people. You want to make sure that you're building trust with customers, and they want to feel comfortable giving their business to you.
