Ten minutes with Heather
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to determination, resilience, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals. Building my own business has required long hours, continuous learning, and a hands-on approach to every aspect of the company. While it has been the hardest work of my career, it has also been the most rewarding because I genuinely believe in the mission behind my business and enjoy what I do every day.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is simple: don't be afraid to take the leap. If you experience setbacks or unexpected career changes, use them as opportunities to pursue what truly excites you. Identify your passion and begin, even if you don't have all the answers. Entrepreneurship comes with a steep learning curve, but every challenge becomes an opportunity to grow. Stay committed, keep learning, and believe in your ability to succeed.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is managing the financial realities of running a growing business, including rising advertising costs and balancing operational expenses while supporting employees. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunities to expand into international markets and continue changing public perception around humane, sustainable cat toilet training. Innovation and education will continue to create new possibilities for growth.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I believe in treating animals with compassion, protecting the environment, supporting and empowering women, and maintaining a strong work ethic. I strive to build products and businesses that make a meaningful difference while fostering an inclusive culture where people can thrive. These values guide every decision I make, both professionally and personally.
