What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the depth and variety of experience I’ve gained throughout my career in retail design. Working across retailers, architecture firms, and fixture manufacturers has given me a well-rounded perspective and the ability to see projects from every angle. Most recently, stepping out to launch my own consulting business has pushed me to grow even more — building on everything I’ve learned while continuing to evolve, take smart risks, and stay passionate about the work I do.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I’d encourage young women entering this industry to be intentional about building strong relationships. Network often, find people who are willing to support your growth, and be thoughtful about how you show up — whether that’s volunteering, serving on boards, or getting involved beyond your day-to-day role. Seek out both mentors and sponsors, inside and outside your organization, and stay active in industry associations. Just as importantly, be inclusive and take time to understand the work of other teams — collaboration and cross-functional awareness will set you apart and make you a stronger leader.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in my field right now is launching my own consulting business and being able to reach a wider range of clients and teams. After years of in-house leadership, I’m excited to apply my experience more broadly and help organizations think more strategically about retail design. It’s definitely a challenge to build something new, but the chance to make a bigger impact and connect with more people makes it incredibly rewarding.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Coaching and mentoring students are at the heart of both my work and my personal life. I’m deeply committed to helping others grow in confidence, skill, and direction, and I find real purpose in supporting people as they discover their potential. Creating a supportive, encouraging environment where others can learn and thrive is one of the values that guides everything I do.
