Her Story

About Heidi

Heidi Royter is a seasoned senior housing executive, property management leader, and consultant with more than 30 years of experience building high-performing teams, developing communities, and driving operational success. She began her career in multifamily property management as a leasing agent and quickly advanced through leadership roles, including assistant manager and property manager positions. Early in her career, Heidi became one of the youngest female property managers promoted within her organization, overcoming concerns about her age through dedication, results, and a strong ability to connect with people. Her career path took her from Nevada to Washington and Arizona, where she continued to grow her expertise while training and mentoring leasing professionals and future leaders.

Throughout her career, Heidi has built a diverse background across multifamily, commercial real estate, and senior living operations. During her 18 years with Robson Communities, she helped expand and develop their multifamily portfolio, supported the launch of independent living operations, and played a key role in establishing assisted living services through hands-on training and operational development. She also gained experience overseeing commercial properties, including shopping centers, ground leases, and tenant improvements. Recognizing her passion for senior housing, Heidi transitioned her focus to the industry full-time with Solterra, where she grew the organization’s portfolio and advanced from regional leadership roles to Vice President and ultimately President. In 2025, she made the decision to step away from her executive role and pursue consulting, allowing her to focus on helping organizations strengthen operations, develop leaders, and create sustainable growth.

Today, Heidi leads Integrity Asset Management, where she provides third-party management and consulting services focused on operational strategy, leadership development, process improvement, and organizational growth. Her leadership philosophy is rooted in the belief that strong performance and strong leadership should exist together, with success built through trust, accountability, and investing in people. Heidi’s greatest passion is developing others and creating cultures where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow. Through her people-first approach, she continues to help organizations improve performance while honoring the communities and individuals they serve.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Heidi

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my deep passion for people, lifelong learning, and the profound joy I find in mentoring others and witnessing their professional growth. One of my proudest achievements is seeing colleagues and employees I have worked with advance in their careers, knowing I made a meaningful impact on their journeys. Additionally, my success is rooted in personal perseverance, exemplified by returning to school at age 40 to earn an associate degree in mind-body wellness psychology while managing a busy career and raising three young children with the support of my husband. I constantly invest in my own education and believe that actively exploring new fields, embracing creativity, and acquiring diverse knowledge ultimately empowers me to share a wealth of insights with those around me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have integrated into my professional philosophy is to remain open to learning from everyone around you, regardless of their role or title. Throughout my 30-year career, I have been incredibly fortunate to absorb invaluable insights from numerous leaders, colleagues, and industry professionals who generously shared their wisdom with me. This collaborative approach to professional development taught me that leadership style is not formed in a vacuum, and I credit the diverse people I have worked alongside over the years for shaping my business philosophy and influencing my continuous growth as a leader.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My most important advice to young women entering this field is to unconditionally respect yourself, demand that same respect from others, and always step into a room with confidence—even when you are facing moments of intense self-doubt. It is vital to actively pursue new opportunities, research them thoroughly, and have the courage to say yes when they align with your goals rather than letting fear or insecurity cause you to back down. As a mother of two girls, I truly believe that the more women step forward, embrace their worth, and share their professional and personal experiences, the more we open doors and prove to the next generation that these pathways to leadership are fully available to them.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

In the property management and senior housing sectors, the most significant challenges centered around workforce retention, leadership development, and cultivating a healthy organizational culture. However, these exact hurdles present tremendous opportunities for forward-thinking organizations like mine that are willing to actively invest in their people, embrace innovation, and establish strong internal leadership pipelines. By intentionally addressing these cultural and operational gaps, we can transform industry challenges into powerful catalysts for building resilient teams and thriving business environments.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The core values that guide both my personal and professional life are centered around mutual respect, servant leadership, and an unwavering passion for empowering people from the ground up. I believe that leadership is fundamentally about serving others, helping individuals become the best versions of themselves, and building an organizational culture where everyone—from hourly employees to executive leaders—fully understands their value and impact. Ultimately, I am driven to create an atmosphere where teams grow together, and I dedicate myself to this work to foster a better industry culture while paving a path of opportunity for my own daughters and other women pursuing leadership.
