Heidi Walt is the Owner and Creative Director of Heirloom Stills LLC (Heirloom Stills Photography), where she also serves as Lead Photographer. She specializes in heirloom portraiture, boudoir “Confident You” sessions, and wedding photography, capturing authentic emotion and timeless detail. Combining her expertise in creative direction, client experience, and small-business operations, Heidi ensures every session is thoughtfully guided, organized, and memorable, helping clients feel confident and fully supported.

At Heirloom Stills, Heidi is preparing the studio for an expanded wedding season while offering complementary services such as wedding planning, consulting, and vendor partnerships. She emphasizes meticulous planning for every session, including written shot lists, outfit coordination with backups, and the flexibility to adapt as needed. Recent seasonal offerings include Valentine’s Day sessions and the studio’s signature “Confident You” boudoir experiences, designed to empower clients and celebrate self-confidence.

In addition to her photography work, Heidi is the founder of Heirloom Planning, creating digital tools, planners, and resources to guide couples through the wedding planning process. With experience as a photographer with Lifetouch, a certified yoga instructor, and a published poet, she combines creative vision with operational expertise. Heidi’s approach blends artistry, intentionality, and structure, making her a trusted partner for clients seeking personalized photography, planning, and curated experiences across Delaware and the surrounding region.

Being self-taught, careful planning and organization (writing and following shot lists), and adaptability the ability to pivot and learn from experience.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to be patient and kind, to lead with integrity in my field, and to take pride in my work because people notice the effort and excellence you put forth. I also strive to remain curious and always eager to learn, continuously seeking opportunities to grow both professionally and personally.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Have a plan; structure your sessions; write down the shots you need; plan outfits and backups; learn to pivot when things change and learn from those experiences.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Opportunity: expanding into weddings, adding consulting/planning services, and forming partnerships with bridal-related vendors.
Challenge: managing and structuring that expansion to meet client needs.
