Heidi C Wood

Heidi Wood is an accomplished administrative and human resources executive with over thirty-six years of experience, including thirty-five years at her current company in the manufacturing and construction industry. She serves as Admin VP, overseeing people management, HR functions including recruitment and onboarding, contracts, legal issues, insurance, safety, and strategic planning with company leadership. Earlier, she accepted an executive VP role after a headhunter interview and has contributed to the company's growth from five to 125 employees, expanding from local subcontractor to national and international reach. She holds a bachelor's degree in technology and management from the University of Maryland and a master's in HR Development from Bowie State University completed in 2021. She is certified as SHRM-SCP and SPHR. She has held leadership roles in several professional associations including past president of NAWIC DC and ASHRM, recertification chair for Southern Maryland SHRM, and treasurer for ASA Metro DC. Her advice to young women is to take more risks, grab opportunities such as promotions or association involvement, speak up, and take that risk.
