Her Interview
Ten minutes with Heidy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to not giving up during tough startup moments when timelines exceed expectations. I remind myself daily that at the end of the day you'll see a line running or an impact on those who worked so hard. It's about persistence and seeing the seed you planted grow into something meaningful.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One of my recruiting managers always told me, don't let the downfall from yesterday be what keeps you from being successful tomorrow.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take one day at a time because it's a lot of learning about customer needs and how to provide for the community. You'll be making a change in someone's life by providing them financial stability through work.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is the unemployment rate making it hard to fill high-demand roles like engineers and maintenance. You're competing with 3 or 5 other organizations for candidates, so staying visible and showing transparency as a new organization is key.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Trust and respect.
