Helen Cryer is a dedicated Correctional Officer with over 15 years of experience at Correctional Service Canada (CSC), where she has worked across various facilities in Alberta. Known for her commitment to safety, leadership, and community within the correctional system, Helen has contributed to initiatives that promote security and rehabilitation. Her work extends beyond daily operations, as she actively participates in honoring the legacies of colleagues and supporting programs that strengthen the correctional community.

Helen holds a Master of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Criminal Justice and Corrections from the University of Great Falls. She is currently completing her PhD, furthering her expertise in the field of corrections. Alongside her formal education, Helen has engaged in meaningful research projects such as NATIVE EYEZ RESEARCH, focusing on topics including Bill C-45, repatriation, and issues affecting Native American and First Nations communities.

Beyond her professional achievements, Helen is passionate about public service and community engagement. She operates Montana Native Eyez, a search-and-rescue initiative with her dog, and brings her investigative skills, leadership, and advocacy to every aspect of her work. Recognized for her dedication, she continues to serve as a mentor and role model in the correctional field, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to safety, justice, and cultural awareness.
