About Helen

My career in finance started right after graduating summa cum laude from Fordham in 2018, when I joined UBS Asset Management as a full-time employee after interning there the summer before my senior year in their Hedge Fund Solutions group. At UBS, I wore many hats over my 6+ years there - I started in product marketing for their hedge funds, then became head of sales priorities for all product marketing across channels and asset classes, which gave me this really valuable mile-wide, inch-deep knowledge of how strategies are actually sold and communicated to clients. I then specialized in sustainable investing, where I led both product and channel work, overseeing thought leadership and running major campaigns like our passive sustainable investing ETF initiative that I helped build from infancy all the way through to publication. What really set my UBS experience apart was when I convinced the O'Connor hedge fund team to let me be a product specialist while maintaining my marketing role, because I wanted to see what that 15% was that sales does that marketing can't achieve - I was tired of hearing that marketing is just a cost center. I even worked as an equities analyst on one of our large-cap funds, which gave me incredible insight into what portfolio managers are actually trying to convey and what resonates with clients in real-time. Now at Macquarie Asset Management, I'm an institutional channel manager covering the U.S. region, working with colleagues in London and Australia on our global institutional channel marketing team. I focus on private markets - real estate, infrastructure, real assets, credit and insurance solutions. My role is really about being the connective tissue that keeps everything aligned: I ensure our messaging is consistent with broader firm communications, work closely with sales on their initiatives, manage major events and sponsorships like the Milken Conference where we do networking receptions with Macquarie Capital and the Australian Embassy, handle awards promotion (we just won 6 awards from Infrastructure Investor, making us the top awarded firm this year), oversee thought leadership distribution, and run brand initiatives to build Macquarie's presence in the Americas since we're not as well-known here as we should be.
