Helena Doering

Community mental health advocate in the Greater Birmingham, Alabama area with more than a decade of experience supporting and educating others through NAMI. As a Connection Facilitator, she co-leads a weekly support group for individuals living with mental illness, and as an In Our Own Voice Presenter, she delivers stigma-reducing presentations focused on lived experience, treatment, coping skills, and recovery. Earlier in her career, she worked as a bank teller at America’s First Federal Credit Union.
