Her Story
About Hera
I've been working in human resources and benefits administration for going on 6 years now. Currently, I serve as a Member Services Supervisor at Business Solver, where I've been for approximately 4 years. Before joining Business Solver, I had 2 years of benefits administration experience. In my current role, I lead a team of about 14 people who report directly to me. We assist clients with enrolling in their benefits, such as medical, dental, and vision coverage. We serve as an extension of benefits and an HR partner for multiple clients. I really enjoy what I do, as well as leading my team. My passion for this field was inspired by my mother, who is a project manager at Kettering Health in Ohio. Seeing her work ethic, her leadership, and her independence and strength encouraged me to explore options in this field. I found a love for benefits and human resources, and I'm passionate about guiding employees to make the best decisions for them and their family. My next career goal is to move into a Member Services 2 role and eventually into a Director of Member Services position, because I'm very passionate about leading people and all the benefit administration work.

Ten minutes with Hera
01What do you attribute your success to?
I personally attribute my success to my work ethic. I work very, very hard because I truly believe in the outcome and making a difference. Being a leader, I'm able to make a difference in so many people's lives and continue to mentor them to grow their skills and get them ultimately where they want to be. I would say it really has to go back to the challenges I faced in my past - those challenges have brought me where I am today. I'm 28 years old and I've been through a lot of personal challenges in my life, so I have to always remind myself to just stay positive and know that each day is a new day.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The advice I would give to women newly going into the industry is to not sell yourself short. Remember how capable you are. There may be things that are new to you, but learning is a tool, growing is a tool, and you're capable of accomplishing so much as long as you believe in yourself. You absolutely have to advocate for yourself, because you have to remind yourself that you're capable. I'm also one of the youngest in the room, and that speaks volumes.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
One of the most important values to me is to be positive. I try to remain positive no matter what life throws at me. I've been through a lot of personal challenges in my life, in my 28 years of living, so I have to always remind myself to just stay positive and know that each day is a new day. Along with positivity, integrity is another one - just making sure that I'm being honest and that my morals always come first in every situation.
