Her Story

About Hilda

I have 26 years of experience working in the quality area as an industrial engineer with a specialty in quality and productivity. I'm originally from Mexico and am now a USA citizen. My strong experience includes about 12 years in Mexico working with different companies - Japanese and European. Right now in the USA, my strong experience is in food safety. I work as a PCQI Quality Assurance Manager in continuous improvements, giving different consultations to different companies. Currently, I work in the snack kitchen as a Quality Assurance Manager with SQF certification. This company is a leader for women, and we produce different healthy foods without preservatives. I'm very proud of my experience starting operations at different companies where I developed quality systems in different norms until getting certification for the companies. I have experience in ISO, different ISOs, and in the food industry - SQF certification, GMPs, and BRC. I enjoy so much developing different people and giving training to make more leaders in the companies. I always say 'you can do it!' - you only need to learn a little bit and get more abilities, but you can do it. I enjoy so much working with different cultures and different languages.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Always have the confidence. Always keep training. Look at different things for improvement in your job. Always take a hobby - a hobby for releasing stress. And always work hard, ending with work. You always need very good discipline and persistence. But always respect all the people. Always. Respect is very important. Give the training, give the tools, and help all the people, your team, and help them. I have a lot of passion with the people, and I listen, listen to your team.
