Her Interview

Ten minutes with Hiliary

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the work ethic I get from my family. My father was a self-established business owner who built his business up from nothing, so that's who I've learned from.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never stop learning from the people around you. You can always learn something from somebody.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't be too prideful. Don't be afraid to reach out to people. People are willing to educate as long as you're willing to learn.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

There's an oversaturation in the field because it's attainable for anybody to have a device and run professionally with it, but there's a lot more to it. The reputation of the career gets tainted by certain business owners, which is challenging to overcome and build your own reputation.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Kindness and compassion because you never know what somebody's going through. Communication and understanding are also important, especially in a world with social media where people think they know everyone but really don't.
