Her Interview

Ten minutes with Himani

01What do you attribute your success to?

Himani attributes her success first and foremost to the Almighty, whose guidance and grace have shaped every stage of her personal and professional journey. She also credits the mentors and leaders who strengthened her technical foundation, the clients who trusted her with complex tax matters, and the discipline built through years of experience across Big 4, mid‑market, boutique, and entrepreneurial practice settings. Her growth reflects continuous learning, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to exceptional client service.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

A mentor taught me that my career would accelerate once I could explain complex tax concepts in simple, clear language. I learned to study client behavior patterns because they reveal risks long before the numbers do. I was encouraged to treat workflow inefficiencies as business opportunities waiting to be solved. Curiosity became a competitive advantage, the advisor who asks sharper questions delivers stronger insight. I was reminded that reputation is built in silence, through careful work no one sees.

I was also advised to build a career that is genuinely valuable by developing a rare mix of skills: technical depth, communication clarity, client trust, and operational judgment. That mindset pushed me to grow beyond compliance into advisory, controversy, international reporting, real estate, multi‑state, and AI‑driven tax operations.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Young women entering the tax profession should embrace a multidimensional way of thinking. Approach tax like a lawyer, interpret the intent behind the rules, analyze precedent, and build positions with clarity and confidence. Think like a financial expert, understand how every tax decision shapes cash flow, valuation, and long‑term strategy. And think like an accounting expert, recognize how transactions move through financial statements and how tax positions connect to reporting.

Stay curious, stay disciplined, and stay committed to excellence. Explore widely within the profession, from advisory and controversy to international and technology‑enabled tax. Build a reputation for precision, professionalism, and thoughtful judgment. Your career will rise through the strength of your insight, the integrity of your work, and the confidence you develop in your own abilities.
