Her Story
About Holland
I got my marketing degree for my undergrad and knew I wanted to work with people. My mom worked in HR her whole career and encouraged me toward it. I landed an internship in human resources and fell in love with the recruiting aspect. I interned for three years before going full-time, taking over the college recruiting program at my previous employer in Tennessee. Recently I moved to Florida to take on this new role with the general contractor as their campus recruiter. I am responsible for managing our internship program and events on college campuses, meeting with professors and hiring the best students. I love working with college-age students.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Holland
01What do you attribute your success to?
Being true to who I am and not losing that grounded mindset, not letting situations rattle me. When I say I'm gonna do something, I'm gonna do it. Being reliable and dependable, and people see that and trust you. Building trust is the most important thing.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be honest as a recruiter since you give a lot of noes. Learn to deliver hard conversations. For people in general, just do it. Do not think about what everyone else is thinking. Take the risk and make the leap because you cannot succeed without risk involved.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Keeping my character, integrity, and kindness through changes and tough pieces of the job. Remaining constant and true to who I am and my values, not letting the culture change who I am.
