Her Interview
Ten minutes with Holly
01What do you attribute your success to?
Of course, hard work has been an important part of my success, but I don’t think you achieve success alone. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible leaders who saw my willingness to learn and invested their time in developing me. From the beginning of my career, they challenged me, shared their knowledge, and gave me opportunities to grow. I’m incredibly grateful for those mentors because they played a significant role in helping me become the leader I am today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
One piece of advice that’s stayed with me is that your reputation is your greatest asset. Be someone people can trust, follow through on your commitments, and always lead with integrity.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Know yourself and don’t be afraid to be yourself. Be open to feedback, because constructive criticism is one of the fastest ways to grow. Most importantly, take advantage of the leaders who are willing to invest in you. When someone takes the time to mentor you, they’re giving you one of their most valuable resources—their time. Learn from them, ask questions, and soak up as much as you can. Those relationships can have a tremendous impact on your career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare finance is balancing financial sustainability while navigating an increasingly complex reimbursement environment. Organizations are managing evolving regulations, payer pressures, audits, and insurance denials, all while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality patient care. At the same time, attracting, developing, and retaining talented professionals remains critical to long-term success.
The greatest opportunity is the continued evolution of healthcare. Organizations that embrace innovation, leverage data effectively, and invest in their people will be best positioned to improve patient outcomes while maintaining financial sustainability.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, communication, and continuous learning. I believe trust is built through honesty, transparency, and doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult. Open communication strengthens relationships and helps teams work through challenges effectively.
I also value a willingness to learn and grow. Throughout my career, I’ve benefited from leaders who invested in my development, and I believe it’s just as important to pay that forward by mentoring others. Finally, I believe work should be meaningful and enjoyable. Building strong relationships and fostering a positive culture are essential to developing high-performing teams and achieving lasting success.
