Her Story
About Honey
Honey Secunda has built a career in investor real estate over the past 15 years. After working as a professional makeup artist for 45 years in Atlanta and New York and then as a medical micropigmentation specialist for nearly 9 years assisting breast cancer survivors with plastic surgeons in Atlanta, she transitioned following the loss of her ex-husband. Secunda purchased her first property in Daytona, Florida, and grew her portfolio through mid-term rentals, eventually founding Beehive Home Rentals. She now independently manages 26 units spanning from Maine to Florida, focusing on renovating neglected older homes into furnished apartments, duplexes, and triplexes for traveling nurses, doctors, U.S. Coast Guard, and border agents. Secunda credits her achievements to persistence and refusing to give up despite challenges, having started with limited savings and no mentors. She aims to reach 50 properties while developing an exit strategy that maintains ownership.

My persistence, not giving up. Letting anybody tell me I couldn't do it. I did it quietly, because you don't want to boast. It was a day-to-day trial and error situation.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take your time. Don't be in a hurry. Make sure that what you're doing feels right. Follow your guideline, stay within budget. Get people that are qualified to work for you. Trust your gut. Get everything in writing. Interview contractors and lenders.
