Her Interview

Ten minutes with Hozen

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success first and foremost to God. Without Him, I am nothing. Every opportunity, lesson, and achievement in my life has been possible because of His grace, favor, and guidance. My faith has been the foundation of my strength through every season, especially during times of uncertainty, challenge, transition, and growth.

Two verses that deeply resonate with me are, “She laughs without fear of the future” and “Be still, and know that I am God.” These scriptures remind me to walk forward in faith, remain at peace in uncertain moments, and trust that God is in control of what lies ahead.

Alongside faith, I attribute my success to perseverance, adaptability, discipline, and a commitment to continuous learning. I also credit my parents, whose example shaped my mindset from an early age. Together, faith, family, and resilience have been the pillars of my journey.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I have received is to never limit myself to the title I currently hold, but instead to continue building the knowledge, character, and confidence for the role I am meant to step into next. That advice taught me to see every responsibility, challenge, and opportunity as preparation for greater purpose and leadership.

It also reinforced the importance of consistency, humility, and professionalism. I believe success is not built only on technical skill, but also on the willingness to learn, the courage to speak up, and the discipline to keep showing up with excellence even when the path is not easy.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to believe in your knowledge, trust your voice, and never underestimate the value you bring to the table. In technical and operational environments, women may sometimes feel pressure to prove themselves repeatedly, but I believe preparation, confidence, and consistent performance speak powerfully.

I would encourage women to keep learning, ask questions without fear, and take initiative even before they feel completely ready. Growth often happens in uncomfortable spaces, and leadership begins the moment you choose to step forward.

Most importantly, stay grounded in who you are, hold on to your values, and do not allow fear to define your future. I believe faith, resilience, and courage can carry you farther than you may imagine. Build strong relationships, seek mentors, and stay committed to growth.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is balancing increasing food safety, quality, and regulatory expectations with the demand for efficiency, speed, and continuous operational performance. Organizations are expected to maintain the highest standards while also adapting quickly to evolving business needs, customer expectations, and resource limitations.

Another key challenge is building a strong culture of food safety and quality that goes beyond policies and paperwork and becomes part of everyday decision-making at every level of the organization. Creating that culture requires leadership, accountability, training, and cross-functional commitment.

At the same time, I see tremendous opportunity in digitalization, data systems, automation, and stronger collaboration between departments. I believe the future of the industry will be shaped by professionals who can bridge science, operations, compliance, leadership, and technology. This is a powerful time for innovation and transformation, and an exciting opportunity for leaders who are ready to drive meaningful change.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith, integrity, perseverance, accountability, compassion, gratitude, and continuous growth. Faith remains at the center of everything I do, keeping me grounded, humble, and focused on a purpose greater than myself.

Integrity is essential to me because I believe in doing the right thing even when it is difficult or unseen. Perseverance has carried me through challenges, while accountability has taught me the importance of taking ownership of both successes and setbacks. Compassion matters deeply to me because true leadership is not only about achieving results, but also about understanding, uplifting, and supporting others.

Gratitude is another value that shapes my outlook, especially in the way I honor God, my parents, my journey, and the opportunities I have been given. Finally, continuous growth is central to who I am, as I am always striving to learn more, improve further, and become a better professional, leader, and person.
