Idalia Aguilar is an international freight forwarding apprentice based in Houston, Texas, who has built her career through persistence, adaptability, and a strong commitment to continuous learning. Originally from Mexico, she immigrated to the United States over a decade ago and rebuilt her educational and professional foundation from the ground up. With an academic background that includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, she later transitioned into logistics after discovering a strong interest in supply chain operations.
She is currently an apprentice in international freight forwarding with Fracht Group - North America, where she rotates across key operational areas including imports, exports, customs clearance, and customs brokerage. In parallel, she has pursued specialized training in Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management at Houston Community College. Her hands-on apprenticeship experience allows her to develop a comprehensive understanding of global trade flows, shipment handling, and end-to-end logistics coordination.
Her professional background includes experience in warehouse operations and dispatching, where she developed practical skills in inventory control, order fulfillment, and logistics documentation. She also holds industry certifications such as the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) and Certified Logistics Associate (CLA). Across her journey, she has demonstrated resilience, professionalism, and a strong focus on growth, shaping a career path centered on global logistics and supply chain excellence.

Having built my career from the ground up, I value emotional intelligence and a commitment to learning as key strengths that have allowed me to overcome challenges and keep moving forward.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would tell young women entering my industry that you don’t need connections or experience to get started. What matters most is persistence, a genuine willingness to learn, resilience in the face of challenges, and strong emotional intelligence. If you stay committed to growth and keep showing up with professionalism, you can build your path and opportunities will follow.
