Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ila Marie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think a lot of it is just going back to, if I was an employee, what would I want? So I'm always think of the end user, and that is what really drives and motivates me to wake up each and every morning to do my role. The impacting the change is what truly motivates me, because there's so many people out there, and we can get all consumed with our work, but, like, knowing the larger change that we can make as a result of the products or programs or companies that we work for is the guiding principle for me.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say, speak up. No idea is too small or too silly. So we have to make the space that you want to claim. I think a lot of times in my past professions and roles, I was waiting for someone to call on me and then give me the floor, and you don't have that. The world doesn't operate. You really carve out and make your own space, and then, you know, stand firm in what you believe. So, that would be my advice.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is a huge one. I would also say positivity... We need to be positive with one another. Because the positive psychology of well-being really impacts, like, one thing begets another. So, whatever interaction I'm doing or within, I always try to leave a little light wherever I go. ... being true to who you are, if you know something, don't be afraid to speak up... treating People with kindness and respect.
