Ilyse Liffreing is the Managing Editor at The Trade Desk Editorial for The Current, where she has played a pivotal role in shaping the publication’s voice and influence in the advertising industry. As one of the founding members of The Current, she oversees editorial strategy, content creation, and newsroom operations, while also co-hosting The Current Podcast. Her work blends journalistic rigor with engaging storytelling, helping amplify the perspectives and insights of leading voices in the open internet ecosystem.
Before assuming her current role, Ilyse held a variety of editorial and content leadership positions at The Trade Desk, including Senior Manager of Go-to-Market Content and Operations and Editorial Manager. She brings extensive experience in business media, content marketing, and podcast production, consistently delivering impactful stories and initiatives that foster audience engagement and position her teams as thought leaders in digital advertising. Her earlier career as a staff writer and reporter at outlets such as Ad Age, Digiday, and Campaign US allowed her to cover brand strategy, social media campaigns, and emerging trends in digital marketing, cultivating a robust network of industry contacts along the way.
Ilyse holds a Master’s Degree in Journalism from New York University and a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a focus on Journalism and Multimedia from the University of San Francisco. She has contributed to the community as a tutor for the Seven Tepees Youth Program and remains active in professional and honor societies, including Delta Zeta and Sigma Tau Delta. My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: you can achieve anything you set your mind to. With determination, focus, and confidence in your abilities, there are no limits to what you can accomplish.

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field is staying fully committed to hard work while keeping up to date with constant changes and advancements.
