About Ina
Ina Oglesby, J.D., is a legal and operations professional with nearly a decade of experience spanning compliance, regulation, risk management, and claims and litigation management. As Operations Lead and Chief Information Officer at Extant Claims and Litigation Management, Inc., Ina serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, overseeing administrative and human resources operations while supporting a global network of personnel. Her work also involves facilitating claims and litigation workflows and strengthening organizational practices around cybersecurity frameworks, legal standards, and compliance training.
Ina’s legal background is complemented by extensive experience in advocacy and community service. She has provided legal support through PULSES, including years of pro bono work focused on special education advocacy, and previously served as a legal advocate and associate through community legal workshops and clinics. Her experience includes legal triage, case assessment, general counsel support, and assisting individuals with matters involving immigration, business loss, criminal law, and civil torts. She earned her Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude, and has continued to expand her professional knowledge through advanced education.
Building on her legal and compliance expertise, Ina is pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with a specialization in Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, with a focus on forensic law and technical security. Her developing cybersecurity expertise complements her experience in regulatory compliance and risk management, positioning her at the intersection of law, technology, and organizational security. She is committed to continuous learning and professional development, including independent study of Russian and continued engagement with the legal and security fields.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to curiosity, adaptability, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning. My background in law, compliance, regulatory and risk management has given me a strong analytical foundation, which I am now applying to cybersecurity as I pursue advanced studies in ethical hacking and penetration testing. I am motivated by meaningful work, enjoy challenging myself to learn new skills, and remain committed to using my knowledge to help protect people and organizations.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe in the work you do and take pride in it. Don’t let fear hold you back; if something feels challenging or intimidating, it may be a sign that you are growing. Keep pushing yourself forward, trust your abilities, and embrace opportunities that take you outside your comfort zone.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in the tech industry is the continued lack of female representation. At the same time, this creates an important opportunity for more women to enter the field, contribute their perspectives, and help shape an evolving industry where greater diversity and inclusion are increasingly important.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are education, discipline, persistence, service, and personal growth. My experiences have taught me to work hard, create my own path, and remain committed to helping others. I value giving back to my community, continuous learning, and using my knowledge and skills to advocate for and support those who need it.
