About India
India Singletary is an experienced optometry professional with 13 years in the field and nearly 11 years of experience in assistant management. Based in Thomasville, Georgia, she has built her career around creating positive experiences for both patients and team members. In her current role as Assistant Manager at MyEyeDr., she oversees daily floor management, customer service, patient experience, team responsibilities, and business operations. Throughout her career, India has developed strong leadership and operational skills through hands-on experience, high school education, and some college coursework. She is recognized for her ability to coach and guide staff, manage day-to-day operations, and foster a supportive and effective work environment. India credits much of her professional growth to the guidance of strong mentors, including her current general manager, Sam, as well as her own self-motivation, determination, and commitment to delivering excellent service. India is passionate about encouraging others to build lasting careers in optometry, particularly by obtaining an optician license early. She recognizes the continued demand for qualified opticians and believes the medical and patient-care aspects of optometry should remain at the forefront of the profession. Beyond her career, India takes great pride in being a mother to two young sons and a wife to a very supportive husband. Her family keeps her grounded and reinforces her belief that true success extends beyond the workplace.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to great mentors, strong guidance, and a commitment to hard work. I’m highly self-motivated and driven to continually learn, grow, and strive for excellence while creating a positive environment for both my team and our patients.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received has come from my mentor and General Manager, Sam. She inspires me to believe in myself, continuously grow, and always put my best foot forward.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to get licensed early in your career, as it will always benefit you. Also, remember that optometry goes beyond retail—the medical side should always come first.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in our field is the growing demand for licensed opticians. Because quality vision care is essential, licensed opticians are highly valuable, and there is a significant need for skilled professionals in the industry.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value self-motivation, determination, and the drive to succeed. As a mother to two young sons, my family keeps me grounded and reminds me that true success extends beyond my career and includes the relationships and life I build outside of work.
