Her Interview
Ten minutes with Indu
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning. Even during career transitions and periods when I needed to prioritize my family, I never lost touch with my profession. I remained dedicated to expanding my knowledge, staying current with industry developments, and refining my skills. I have always believed that excellence is defined by the quality of the work—not by where it is performed. Whether working remotely or on-site, I hold myself to the same high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and accountability, and that commitment has been instrumental in my long-term success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received was to be honest when I don't know something, communicate that openly with the client, and then commit to doing the necessary research and due diligence to deliver the best possible outcome. That advice taught me that integrity and a willingness to learn are just as important as experience. It has given me the confidence to embrace new challenges, expand my expertise, and take on unfamiliar work with the assurance that dedication, preparation, and continuous learning lead to successful results.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to always remember that technology is a tool, not a replacement for human connection. Be people-focused first and then use your technical skills to support your work. Build genuine relationships with clients and colleagues, communicate openly, and never lose sight of the person behind the numbers. While technology can make you more efficient, professionalism, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills are what build trust and create lasting success.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field is the continued growth of flexible remote work, which allows professionals to serve clients effectively while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Advances in technology have made it possible to deliver the same level of accuracy, efficiency, and client service from virtually anywhere. At the same time, one of the biggest challenges is the increasing pressure to meet tight deadlines and the prevalence of micromanagement in some financial environments. I believe organizations achieve the best results by empowering professionals with trust, accountability, and the flexibility to focus on delivering high-quality work rather than simply working under constant oversight.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide both my professional and personal life are simple: do the right thing and do it right. I believe integrity, honesty, and accountability should be the foundation of every decision and every relationship. Whether I'm serving clients, collaborating with colleagues, or supporting my community, I strive to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, treat others with respect, and consistently deliver work that reflects excellence and trustworthiness.
