Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success as an Audit Partner to the full journey it took to get here. Every step—from my early education at a small high school in upstate New York to earning my undergraduate degree at Ithaca College and my master’s at Syracuse University—played an important role in shaping my path. Those experiences built the foundation for the skills, perspective, and resilience I bring to my work today.

I truly enjoy being a certified public accountant licensed in both New York and Massachusetts, and I take pride in the depth and variety of my experience. My time at KPMG, particularly my work in ESG reporting, broadened my expertise and allowed me to engage with evolving areas of the profession. Earning a sustainability certificate further strengthened that knowledge and continues to influence how I approach my work.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

You can have a successful career making a difference

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You can join the world of auditors and be able to have a successful career

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think the accounting field is going through some changes here in the next couple of years with AI - we all hear about that. So continuing to highlight the practice and the profession as a whole is important to me. I think this kind of recognition gives me another avenue to do that. It's easy when you come into a company or an organization and it's well known and you have everything built out, and while we do in some industries, here in Boston really highlighting what we're doing from a life science perspective is critical to me. That's what I've been trying to do with my involvement in various areas and on LinkedIn, including thought leadership and highlighting conferences we're going to. I want to continue to drive the importance of the accounting field and the profession as a whole.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my work, I'm really focused on building brand recognition for what we're doing here at Crowe in the local market, particularly from a life science perspective. Highlighting what I'm doing here in the local market with my involvement with the Tamir Institute and Life Science Cares is my primary focus. I think it's important to continue to drive the importance of the accounting field and profession as a whole. In my personal life, what matters most to me is spending time in the woods with my husband, who's my best friend in the world, and our four dogs, who are probably my pride and joy. We just recently moved to Vermont where we have a lot of acreage and property, and I enjoy being out there, staying active and working out. After 18 years in this field working long hours, you have to enjoy what you're doing, otherwise your days will be miserable.
