Her Story

About Ingrid

Ingrid Harris is a seasoned professional with more than two decades of leadership experience spanning retail management, customer service, payroll operations, tax compliance, and employee development. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for operational excellence, strong client relationships, and a people-centered leadership style. Beginning her professional journey in retail, Ingrid advanced through leadership roles including team lead, store manager, and multi-store management positions, where she successfully led teams, improved performance, and delivered exceptional customer experiences.

Six years ago, Ingrid made a successful transition into the payroll and tax industry, joining ADP at an entry-level position and steadily advancing through dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning. Today, she serves as a Mentoring Advisor, where she trains new hires, coaches existing associates, and provides guidance on payroll, tax, and banking-related processes. Her expertise in mentoring, employee development, client service, and compliance has made her a valued resource for both colleagues and clients. Ingrid believes in leading by example, remaining consistent, treating everyone with respect, and staying humble regardless of position or achievement.

In addition to her work in payroll and tax operations, Ingrid recently achieved another major milestone by earning her Florida real estate license. Inspired in part by personal experiences helping her family navigate real estate matters, she views this accomplishment as the beginning of an exciting new chapter. While continuing her career at ADP, she is actively exploring opportunities within the real estate industry and plans to transition into full-time real estate work within the next five years. Beyond her professional pursuits, Ingrid is passionate about giving back to her community through volunteer efforts supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, including service projects with the Salvation Army.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Ingrid

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from seeing my mom as a single mother raising four children independently, and my grandmother. They inspired my hard work ethic and leading by example. I lead from the front with my team, not from the back.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mother and grandmother, who taught me the values of resilience, hard work, faith, and personal responsibility. Their example showed me that challenges do not define your future—perseverance, integrity, and determination do. They also taught me to lead by example, stay engaged, treat others with respect, and approach every opportunity with purpose and commitment.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Never allow any past life experience to dictate what your future holds. I don't hold a college degree but started entry level and advanced to management. Continue to believe in yourself. All things are possible. Be consistent.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is keeping up with constantly changing payroll, tax, and compliance regulations while maintaining accuracy and meeting client expectations in a fast-paced environment. At the same time, these challenges create opportunities to expand my expertise, strengthen leadership skills, and build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues. I also see growing opportunities in real estate, where my experience in customer service, problem-solving, and relationship-building can help guide clients through important decisions and contribute to continued professional growth.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me are consistency, respect, humility, and integrity. I believe in treating everyone equally, building strong relationships, and maintaining good character in both my work and personal life.
