Her Story
About Irena
Irena Caldera has spent nearly two decades in the aviation industry, beginning her career at a young age while working with her father's aviation company. For the past seven years, she has been employed at Embraer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where her role focuses on customer support for an aircraft parts exchange program. In this capacity, Caldera and her team manage urgent part requests through a pool program and advanced exchange system, providing serviceable units in return for customer cores while emphasizing customer satisfaction, data analysis, and trend identification. She collaborates closely with warehouses, repair management, and planning departments to ensure aircraft remain operational. Caldera earned an interior design degree from Palm Beach State College in 2022 after completing studies that began during the COVID period. She previously attended college for business administration and plans to re-enroll at Broward College to complete her degree with an emphasis in marketing, which she believes will enhance her understanding of customer needs and branding in the growing aviation sector. She is actively involved in professional organizations including the Women in Aviation International South Florida chapter, known as SoFly, and Embraer's Embrace Women employee resource group, where she participates in mentorship programs. Caldera also volunteers with the Live Like Jake foundation, which provides scholarships for drowning prevention swim lessons, and supports her local library and bookstores.
